The Brief

Originally launched as a wet cat food brand, Applaws was a huge hit with pets and owners alike thanks to its great ingredients and health benefits. Demand grew quickly, and a premium dog food range soon arrived on shelf but applying the same design principles to the feline variation would have unlikely proved successful in a saturated canine market.

The Solution

With design and photography handled in-house, Equator’s production experts lent their expertise to ensure the entire palette of vibrant shades would standout on diverse formats, including pouches, labels, and plastic lids. Our designs were put in front of market focus groups who helped us narrow down what customers find most important when shopping for their furry friends. Bold design, photography bursting with personality and colour, and expert print-production knowledge collided to create a daring, stand out dog food range with room to expand and grow. Created with global appeal in mind, the product and packaging were rolled out in multiple languages.
